Case Management Services
Objective:
To understand your vocational needs, provide support and guidence during participation in evaluation and training, and help you reach your career goals.
Duration:
Throughout evaluation and training.
Description:
Vocational Counseling will focus on:
- Development of career goals
- Obstacles that my interfere with achieving these goals and how to overcome them
- Transportation needs- traveling plans to work each day
- Personal needs that impact on career decisions
- Working with other support persons (e.g. doctors, therapists) to help reach your goals
- Need for adaptive technology/accommodations
- Ongoing communicating with referring counselors
Counseling is provided on both an individual and group basis. Job seeking classes are incorporated into all the training programs. Additionally, small group sessions are conducted by the case managers on themes that reflect the vocational needs of people in training.
Please note that for persons with deafness, a signing case manager can work directly with you.
